Poetry and the history of board games
Poetry has been a frequent source for dating games and analyzing
their playing rules. A comparison of poetry used for this purpose shows that
interpretation and appreciation of this material is complicated. This first
discussion of poetry as a general tool for board games research intends to
clarify the problems encountered by literary and board games researchers, to
discuss the possible sources and results which may be obtained and to
encourage further research of this kind.
