Special Programmes
A Call for Papers
The International Colloquium on Board Games Studies invites all scholars to submit articles in the area of board game research. The purpose of the Colloquium is to illustrate individual research, to discuss the role of board games in the academic arena, and to enhance multidisciplinary cooperation in games research.
Summaries, Abstracts and Presentations
Participants interested in presenting a paper should submit a topic title and informal summary, written in English, not exceeding 200 words. Summaries should be submitted by 15th December.
If your paper is accepted, you will be asked to make a presentation at the Colloquium. You will then need to submit a formal abstract (you may use your summary as your abstract). These abstracts, of 200-500 words, due 15th February 2005, will be printed in the colloquium programme, which all participants will receive at registration, all abstracts must be in English.
All presentations will be given in English and should not exceed 30 minutes; there will be a 10 minutes period for questions following each presentation.

Oxford
The town is historic having received its charter in the 12th century. It is dominated by the university colleges and boasts a
number of excellent museums. There is a good rail and bus service to London within walking distance of our conference centre.
St. Aldates Church is situated in the very heart of Oxford opposite Tom Tower of Christ Church College where Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) was a professor. There is a good exhibition about the author at the Museum of Oxford and a visit to see it will be arranged. Also in Oxford are the Ashmolean Museum, the Pitt Rivers Museum and the Bodleian Library.
Hotel accommodation is expensive, however, there is many small guest houses, inns and B&Bs, all within walking distance. Prices range from £30 to £50 for a single room (about $50 -$70). All can be accessed through the Oxford Information Centre at the website: www.visitoxford.org. However, I will post a selection of accommodation and assist anyone who would like me too. The college owned accommodation is only available between June and September.
